| - Rev Noott served St John's from 1843 until his death in 1905.
- We believe he is the longest serving Parish Priest and this is being researched at present.
- Prior to St John's he was curate at Tipton.

| - William Perry was Champion of England in bare knuckle fighting from 1850-1857.
- He is buried at St John's Church. The funeral service was conducted by Rev Noott.
- Our patron Professor Carl Chinn is a direct descendant of William Perry.
- The Tipton Slasher remains a Black Country icon
