Michael Taylor grew up in Kates Hill, Dudley and attended St John's Church. He was a leader in St John's Church Youth Club
He has featured St John's Church in seven of his nine novels. Each of them provide well researched social history as well as wonderful romantic story telling.
Michael is a founder member of St John's Church Preservation Group (2007).

700 members of the Romantic Novelists' Association only 20 were men and, of
those, Michael Taylor was the only one who did not use a female pseudonym.
